Internet security suite currently being important tools to protect internet users from various malware, spam, botnet and other illegal activities. Steve Ragan of SecurityWeek noted that in January and earlier March 2012, hundreds and perhaps thousands of WordPress-based domains were compromised in a series of automated attacks.

“Though there was no official number given, the reason for the compromises has made itself known, ” said Ragan. He added that they are being used as the final stage in a spam run, likely from the Cutwail botnet, to spread malware.

Visit here to learn more the best internet security suite for home users.

Some malwares are attached in spam emails that coming to our inbox just like rain. Ragan advised that it’s wise to avoid opening attachments with an HTML extension, and ensuring that email clients operate in plain text.

Yups, it’s common to manage several accounts at once time. One of my accounts is always full of spam. They’re crowding my inbox every time.

Lucky the Gmail keep improve. They increase the email storage capacity every day. Gmail has filter system that easy to set up. Combining by label system, the filter becomes more powerful.

Btw, here some tips to protect our email account from spam:

Use different email account for different business. I use an account for online business, submitting newsletter and any forms that really attracting my interest at the first time. Another account is used for serious communication with friends and colleagues.

Read privacy policy. Submit, sign up and another type of filling form activities that requiring email account usually featured with privacy policy. Honestly, I never read the privacy policy carefully. Most such documents have long words, sophisticated statements and hard to understand. But, it’s important to read it carefully and look through the section related to our email account.

Do not involve in chain-email mechanism. Though the email offers attracting rewards, forwarding email to 10 or several accounts of your friend is careless. This type of chain-email mechanism actually has hidden agenda to collect valid emails up to thousands. After they create the list of thousand valid emails, they use it as marketing tools. Say, 1% of the two thousand email owners in the list will lead to sales of $100 for each product, it’s feasible to sold the list only $40.

Managing email accounts to reduce the incoming spam is like safety riding practice. Use safety belt, read the guidance, and stop while the traffic light is red.

Adroid device users enjoy so many features, benefits and ease of access. The open source based system has bring new experiences for users at affordable prices. However, android device users should aware that using open source system device also has specific security risks as well.

I note some security tips from Max Secure Software on how to increase the security and how to set the device at secure level.

First, android users should enable lock screen. Outhere, there are people who willing to adopt an older form of thievery. “Should you realize your phone is suddenly in the physical possession of a third party, a lock screen is essential in providing your data with a first line of defense,” said max secure software at their newsletter.

To enable lock screen, simply browse to ‘Settings’ > ‘Location & security’ to enable a PIN or pattern style lock screen. While you’re in ‘Settings’, change your ‘Screen Timeout’ under ‘Display’ to set delay period before it comes to lock.

Second, treat your password savely. Don’t store master password in your device. Create password that easy to remember, but hard to be cracked. Birth date, ‘password’, sequence number are easy to be cracked.

Third, update your operating system and its apps. “Keeping up to date is crucial for security as there are many exploits and methods for gaining access to restricted data discovered every day, “ asid max secure software. MSS newsletter added, getting apps patched or updated is vital to the growth and success of Android as a whole.

Here the new security system improved by Google at Android Market. Bouncer performs a set of analyses on new applications, applications already in Android Market, and developer accounts.

Google says that it’s an automated scanning of Android Market for potentially malicious software without disrupting the user experience of Android Market or requiring developers to go through an application approval process.

How the bouncer works?

“We actually run every application on Google’s cloud infrastructure and simulate how it will run on an Android device to look for hidden, malicious behavior. We also analyze new developer accounts to help prevent malicious and repeat-offending developers from coming back,” writes Hiroshi Lockheimer, VP of Engineering, Android at Google Mobile blog.

This improved security seems is good implementation for android device users.

According to Steve Ragan of SecurityWeek, it’s no secret that malware exists on the Android platform, and as more and more smartphones enter the market leveraging Google’s platform. “The attack surface will grow – presenting an attractive target to criminals,” added Ragan

Internet users should more concern while using social media to networking activities. As we aware that fake account are exists in such social media, we need to understand how the fake account used by their creators.

Barracuda Network found that almost 60 percent of fake accounts claim to be bisexual, 10 times more than real users. The research also found that fake accounts have six times more friends than real users, 726 versus 130.

How this security study conducted?

Barracuda Network have analyzed a random sampling of 2,884 active Facebook accounts to identify key differences between average real user accounts and fake accounts created by attackers and spammers.

“Likes, News Feeds and Apps have helped lead Facebook to its social network dominance and now attackers are harnessing those same features to efficiently scale their efforts,” said Dr. Paul Judge, chief research officer at Barracuda Networks. “These fake profiles and apps give attackers a long-lived path to continuously present malicious links to innocent users.

Facebook has filed for IPO this week, and raised various respond from security experts, internet business analysts etc.

The study also found that fake accounts almost always (97 percent) claim to be female, as opposed to 40 percent for real users.

Max Secure Security said that we need to keep personal information a secret. “Advice kids never to share personal information about themselves or their family with other players—their real name, email or home address, age, gender, pictures, and the like, ” said Max Secure on its newsletter.

Another tips is protecting game accounts with strong passwords. How a password can be strong? The strong passwords are at least eight characters (longer is better) and include a mix of letters, numbers, and symbols.

I heard that ‘ordinary password’ are easy to crack, such birth date, your kid’s birth date, your wedding date etc.

Max Secure Security also talking about how to make up a safe gamer name. It said that helping children choose screen names and gamer tags (such as Kinect ID) that do not reveal anything personal, are not suggestive, and do not make kids easy to locate.
